According to local police, a wedding in Rasoolabad village near
the city of Kanpur in north India was called off when the groom failed to solve a simple addition problem. Before saying “I do,” his bride-to-be asked him what 15 plus six was. He said “17.” She stormed out.
Since many marriages in India are arranged between families, plenty of couples don’t know each other very well before tying the knot. I guess this bride wanted to make her standards clear from the start.
To be fair, we can think of a few knowledge gaps that would totally wipe out our desire to marry somebody, too.
