Buhari campaign tackles Lamido over utterance

All  Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO), yesterday tackled the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji
Sule Lamido, over his alleged comment that it would only take the kidnap of two APC leaders for the party to break up.
Besides, the party has indicated that General Muhammadu Buhari will kick-start his presidential campaign using a three-pronged strategy.
Director of Media and Publicity of APCPCO, Mallam Shehu Garba, disclosed that while Buhari would lead one campaign group, his wife, Aisha and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, would head two other campaign groups.
Flaying Lamido’s alleged disparaging comment on APC, APCPCO spokesman told newsmen: “As we were preparing for this press conference, some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors are meeting in Lagos and some of the utterances that are coming from that place are not particularly pleasant.
“I want to consider what the Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, said. I feel it is some kind of morbid joke and I hope that it did not come from his heart at the time when kidnapping was a very serious plaque nationwide.
“I think it is terrible and in bad taste that the governor will stand in the front of the television cameras and announce that to break the APC, all they needed to do is to kidnap two APC leaders.
“It is like people are not aware that Nigerians have sensibilities and sensitivities that need to be respected. Otherwise, people should not just ruffle the emotions of the people of this country.
“For us in the APC presidential campaign, kidnapping is a serious threat to this country and it is not a matter that people should be joking about. As it is with Boko Haram, of course it is not surprising that for our presidential candidate, General Buhari, the key issues are about the security and the lives and property of the people of this country and as you can see from his various speeches, this is a matter he intends to give his all,” Shehu said.
